March Madness is not yet over — surely you know that. Saturday is the Final Four which is the culmination of all those brackets. Whether you picked the four that are still standing or not, these promise to be good games.  The championship game is Monday — and then March will actually be over.

Of course I’m pulling for North Carolina to win the whole thing because they’re always my team. So even if there is sun in Portland on Saturday afternoon I’ll be watching basketball.

In case you’ve been dodging the sports news, have never heard of March Madness, or otherwise been too busy to notice, the NCAA College Basketball Tournament is starting and the first round of Tournament action is here in Portland!

Games are sold out although I’ve seen some ads for tickets so you never know.  I’m expecting it to be crowded since two teams from Washington are in the mix (Gonzaga and University of Washington) which means their fans don’t have to make their way across the country.

Apparently the NCAA used to have games here but not in the last 25 years or so. I’m originally from North Carolina — home of the ACC — so I wasn’t really expecting any of those teams to show up here.  They’ll all be playing in other locations.  But it’s exciting to have the beginning of March Madness here  in town and I’m looking forward to being a temporary fan of teams I don’t usually hear a lot about.
