Wow.  The 13th is my lucky day so far.  Not only is there some sun and a patch of blue sky (especially encouraging after yesterday’s gray rain), but I got free coffee and a Voodoo doughnut at PSU’s ceremony opening the new plaza between Smith and Neuberger.  I live next to PSU and spend a lot of time there at events, or classes, or just meeting up with friends.  That walkway between the two buildings has been closed for several months and I’m glad to see it back open.

So I was happily munching my doughnut and listening to the opening remarks when they announced that there would be a drawing for an iPod as part of the festivities.  So I thought why not, and signed up — and amazingly I won.

It’s the regular-sized 30GB iPod, not the tiny nano  one — and it’s black — my favorite color for electronic stuff.  Not to mention that I’ve never had an iPod of any kind.  Amazing.

The plaza/breezeway is very nice — I like the designs  on the underside of the second story bridge.  Didn’t have my camera with me or I could post a picture.  They seem to be images of what you’d see from one of the building windows.

So thanks to PSU for making a party out of the plaza opening and giving out prizes.  And thanks to Voodoo for the doughnuts and coffee.
